Atlas Aphasia Center
Be Kind is a short story about nature and kindness that was written by a stroke survivor and a speech therapist at Atlas Aphasia Center. It can be used by people with aphasia to practice reading single words and short sentences. It uses repetition, pictures, and phonetic words to build confidence and encourage decoding based on sound-letter correspondence. Included is a copy of the book without words so you can print it out and practice writing the words in the story yourself by filling in the blanks. A paperback version can be ordered here.
